I have been crocheting for few days now (after long pause) and I have finished two granny squares. I could do more of them but I can't send only granny squares to my Nyobe circle members. I have dreamed about crocheting all my sock yarn leftovers to granny squares, I could make an afgan in just few years.

PIF-lahja saapui My PIF yarn
Yesterday I came home early and found soft packet among other posts. I opened it as soon as I took off my coat. Hanne had sent me beautiful hand spun yarn and spinner's control card, thank you. I would have like to send control card to my HHHH swap pair but I couldn't find it from Europe and posting from USA paid more than card itself.
Yesterday evening I notices that timeline for Secret Pal 13 has been published, I'll definitely join it.
Now I have got my PIF gift it's time to Pay it Forward and you can get something from me by commenting this post. I have been wonderig if my knittings are horrible because nobody wants them.

Outoja harrastuksia Odd hobbies
My shoulders have been sore for sometime so when my left hand started to went numb and tingled I decided to see a doctor. I was expecting to have prescription and referral to physio therapy but I ended up having some extra test. Next week I'm heading to the enmg exam to find out if my wrist, elbow or shoulder is causing problems. I'm bit worried if I have to give up knitting forever, I hope not to. Because knitting is painful I bought myself a crochet hook, I would have like to have a beautiful Surina hook but there wasn't any small sizes available today. Pink scissors are charity version of basic model, limited edition for Pink Ribbon project I bought them today to make me happy.
Does this look like a Granny square?

Tilkkuja ja paikallisruokaa Blocks and local food
On Saturday I met other spinners at cafe, it was nice to see all of you. I continued my block knittining in the evening nas managed to finish two blocks last weekend and my third (actually fouth) was finished yesterday.
I sent my last Secret Pal packet on last Thursday so I was checking my pal's blog all day to see f it has already arrived. When I came home I had got email that it was there.
I have watched news all evening and read some blogs. On SP 11 I spoiled Jollyewe and today she blogged about Eat Local Challenge and decided to join the challenge. On October I'm going to eat only Finnish food especially food from Southern Finland.

Pakettiperjantai Packet on Friday
Today I came home via post office because I wanted to send my first NYOBE block, second one was too big so I'm not going to send it. At front door I noticed a note for packet and wondered what I'm going to have because I wasn't expecting anything. I left my bag home and walked to the post office and got my last Secret Pal parcel.
As soon as I came home (again) and took my coat off I sat on the kitchen table to open my packet. My assistant came too, because he was sure that there is something to him in packet. (Poor cat has conditioned to packets; every time I open some packet he comes to see it and will put his head inside the packet before I can see what is inside.) When I had opened nearly all little packets I found his packet, it was lovely catnip bird. Perfect gift to cat who loves catnip and feathers.
I got something else, two hand knitted washclothes ( I have never knitted any dish or washclothes but I have planned to do so) which I can use with beautiful hand soap. There was also hand balm called Knitters Little Helper, some root beer candies, stitchmarkers, three skeins of green sock yarn ( I already have one skein of Smooshy and I have been thinking to buy some Shibui knits) and a K1P1 bumper sticker(?) and book with shawl patterns. And now I know who has been spoiling me. Thank You Kathy! This round has been wonderful, you really are a mind reader.

Anna hyvän kiertää Pay It Forward
Hanne asked today what is my address. I commented her PIF-posting some time ago and now she is sending me something handmade. I think it's time to Pay it Forward.
- I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange.
- I don't know what that gift will be yet, but you will receive it within 365 days.
- The only thing you have to do in return is "pay it forward" by making a similar agreement on your blog.

Huonomuistinen langanostaja Yarn buyer with poor memory
Last week I did some online shopping at five o'clock in the morning from two different shops few days later I couldn't remember what I had bought. So I promised to myself not to buy yarn (or anything else) in the morning. Pink yarns are my first Cascade 220 skeins I'm planning to knit a bag and felt it to my sister and I couldn't remember buying these yarns. I can remember buying more Noro Sock yarn and two sale skeins of Panda Cotton. I bought my first Noro sock yarn in winter and I haven't use it yet. Green yarn is Titan Wool's Merino yarn, I bought three skeins of it from Tallinn few days ago. I'd like to have a circular shawl some day.
Few days ago I joined block exchage group in Ravelry. I have promised to knit 12 (12*12" ) blankt blocks and send 11 of them to other knitters/crocheters, who will send their blocks to me. At Christmas I should have 12 blocks for my blanket.

Vauvan setti valmiina Baby set finished
I finished another baby set yesterday evening, I washed it and put it over the balloons to dry. I used Sirdar's Baby Bamboo (80% bamboo, 20% wool) for this set; yarn is very slow to dry it's still damp. Sweater shimmers beautifully and it was surprisingly nice to knit. I'm not sure if slow drying is good for thi purpose. I'm going to buy buttons from Tallinn when I go there. I would like to have wooden buttons but they are not washable.
Postman brought me some lollipops from US today, thank you Secret Pal! I also got a notice for packet so I went to the post office after my gymnastics to get more sock yarn.

Kolmet sukat puikoilla Three pairs of socks on needles
Yesterday I worked longer than usual. When I came home I noticed two big letters from US; I ordered a project bag (green with pink) from Etsy and Ravelympic pin, some other buttons and t shirt from Ravelry. Luckily packets were flat enough to get through my letter box.
Because I had an extra project bag available I casted on third sock pair.
I casted on my Sock Knitter's Pentathlon socks on first of September, pattern is called Ziggy and it's designed for Noro Sock yarn. I have one skein available but I wanted use left overs from my May's fair isle socks. I'm very slow fair isle knitter but I like the result. With two socks on the same needle you have to be careful with your yarns.
One of Sockdowns challenges on September is to knit orange socks. I ordered some orange yarn when I was on holiday and yesterday I casted them on. You can see my new project bag in a picture too; it's practical there is a pocket inside and row counter is attached to bag.
July's RSC socks are still in progress; I like the pattern and colors in yarn are ok if they were solid but combination is not looking nice. I think I have a participant for Miss Ugly Sock 2008 competition in this picture.
I'm going to start a new baby set today because I had earlier promised to knit a baby sweater for my mother who is going to give it to one of her patients. Somehow I didn't finish on time ( I hadn't even started it yet). So I left early from work today, visited button shop to buy buttons for already finished set then I walked to the yarn shop to buy some yarn for another baby set (for my collague's baby). I posted finished set (with buttons) to my mother and bought a box for my Secret Pals last packet. Now I wonder why didn't I buy any yarn to my Secret Pal when I was at yarn store.
Now I'm heading to the sofa with small sweater.
